Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.
Shooting: An 8-year veteran of the Baltimore City Housing Authority police was patrolling the 7200 block of Sauers Court at the Hollander Ridge public housing complex about 5 p.m. yesterday when he saw two men, one with a handgun, standing between two buildings. The officer ordered the gunman to drop the weapon, but the gunman pointed it at him and the officer fired several shots. The gunman fell to the ground, got up and escaped with his companion. The officer, who was not named, was not injured and police were checking area hospitals.
Burglary: A large quantity of cigarettes and cash, all valued at more than $1,500, were stolen Sunday from Linden Food Market in the 2400 block of Linden Ave. To gain entry, the thief knocked a hole in an exterior wall.
Robbery: A man, 40, was in the 500 block of Bloom St. about 10 a.m. Sunday when three men got out of a red Toyota and robbed him of a cellular phone and pocket knife. After the victim reported the robbery to a policeman who was patrolling the area, the officer followed the Toyota to the 2500 block of McCulloh St., where the victim's property was thrown from the car. The robbers escaped and the property was recovered.
Cutting/arrest: Two men were arguing in the 200 block of Davis St. about 11 p.m. Saturday when one stabbed the other in the abdomen with a knife. Bystanders held the assailant for police. The victim was in stable condition yesterday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Theft/arrest: Someone entered a 1984 Dodge van parked in the 400 block of S. Linwood Ave. during the Latino Festival at Patterson Park Sunday and stole more than $1,000. A short time later, police arrested a suspect, but it was not known if the money was recovered.
Burglary: A cellular phone, 35 mm camera, pager, watch and purse, all valued at more than $1,000, were stolen Sunday from a house in the 3700 block of Beech Ave.
Robbery: A man, 22, was in the 5200 block of Crosson Ave. about 5: 30 p.m. Sunday when a gunman robbed him of $10.
North Point Precinct
Burglary/arrest: A female, 17, was arrested Sunday and charged with entering a house in the 7300 block of School Ave. and stealing a pager valued at $10.
Robbery: Two men gave a man, 38, a ride to the 3800 block of Edgewater Place, where they attacked him and robbed him of his wallet and $40 about noon Sunday. A suspect was arrested and another was being sought.
Burglary: More than $500 was stolen overnight Saturday from a dresser in a house in the 100 block of Juniper Lane. The thief gained entry through a front bedroom window.
Robbery: A gunman robbed Uncle Wiggly's Ice Cream & Coffee Cafe in the 6900 block of York Road of an undisclosed sum of money about 9 p.m. Sunday.
Burglary: Someone entered the Club House Deli in Hunt Valley Mall through a rear door Sunday and took $500 from a cash register.
Robbery: A gunman robbed Rite Aid pharmacy in the 100 block of Cranbrook Road of an undisclosed sum of money about 2: 30 a.m. Sunday.
