The Maryland Arts Festival at Towson University continues with tomorrow's opening of "Godspell," directed by Todd Pearthree.

A retelling of the Gospel According to St. Matthew, the 1971 musical has a book by John-Michael Tebelak and a score by Stephen Schwartz. Sean Patrick Kennedy will portray Jesus in Pearthree's production, which the director has re-conceived with a 1990s flavor.

"Godspell" will be presented in the Mainstage Theatre in Towson University's Center for the Arts, Osler and Cross Campus drives. Show times are 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. June 27 and July 11, through July 24. (No performances July 4 or 8.) Tickets are $19 and $21. Call 410-830-2787.
