Public relations group to meet in Annapolis

The Annapolis-Anne Arundel Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America will meet at 8: 30 a.m. Thursday at the Annapolis Holiday Inn on Riva Road.

Louise Hayman, executive director of Maryland 2000, will describe plans for the statewide millennial celebration with some insights about the public relations aspect of the event.

Workshop to be held on starting a business

SCORE Chapter 390 will conduct a one-day workshop on "How to Start and Manage Your Own Business" from 8: 45 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 14, at the lower level of the CONTE building, 116 Defense Highway.

Transportation group to meet in Parole

Annapolis Regional Transportation Management Association will hold a regional forum from 8 a.m. to 11: 30 a.m. Thursday at the Wyndham Garden Hotel, Annapolis.

The session will include information on public/private transportation systems in the county, management strategies and a discussion with area experts.

Congested roads and lack of adequate transportation options continue to face companies in the Parole area.

Annapolis real estate office offers career seminars

The Annapolis office of Coldwell Banker Stevens Realtors offers free seminars for people interested in a real estate career from 6 p.m to 7 p.m. the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month, at 318 Sixth St., Annapolis.

Service seminar to discuss work environments

Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the third part of its customer service series from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the Country Inn & Suites in Annapolis.

The seminars will include a continental breakfast. Nancy Hahn, director of training and development for Manpower, will moderate.

The seminar "Energy, Passion, Fun! Have More Fun at Work," will teach how to create a work environment where people are connected to their job, colleagues and customers, to retain valuable employees in a competitive market.

Matthew A. Morgan has joined McCrone Inc. as a project manager in the site development and water resources group in the Annapolis headquarters office. Morgan has more than 20 years of experience in designing and managing commercial and residential projects, as well as institutional and public works projects. He has studied civil engineering and architectural technologies at Anne Arundel Community College.
