Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Southern District

Burglary: A videocassette recorder and more than 30 compact discs, all valued at more than $700, were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 800 block of Hollins St.

Robbery: A gunman robbed Nick's sub shop in the 800 block of Washington Blvd. of more than $200 about 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Eastern District

Theft: The owner of a barbershop in the 2200 block of E. Preston St. was closing about 6 p.m. Wednesday when a man entered and asked to borrow money. When the owner refused the request and went to the back of the shop, the man stole barber clippers and accessories, all valued at $500, and fled.

Theft: A woman, 81 and in a wheelchair, was in the 800 block of Harford Court about 8 a.m. Monday waiting for a van to take her to a medical appointment. She asked a male passer-by to adjust her seat belt. He did so, then stole her purse containing $40 and walked away.

Assaults/arrests: Two men were arrested Wednesday and charged with assaulting each other with lengths of wood in the 2200 block of Greenmount Ave. Neither was seriously injured.

Northern District

Burglary: Furniture valued at $800 was stolen Wednesday from a house in the 500 block of Winston Ave. The thief entered through a door.

Robbery: A gunman robbed a man, 24, of $40 and a pager valued at $100 about 9 p.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of Evesham Ave.

Burglary: Three mountain bicycles and several power tools, all valued at nearly $2,000, were stolen Wednesday from a garage in the 5400 block of Purlington Way. The thief entered through a side door.

Baltimore County

White Marsh Precinct:

Theft/arrest: A man, 39, from Columbia was arrested Wednesday when he tried to leave the Hecht Co. store at White Marsh Mall without paying for clothing valued at nearly $700.

Cockeysville Precinct

Burglary/vandalism: Carpeting valued at more than $1,400 was damaged by someone who entered a house in the 800 block of Cinnamon Ridge Place between Monday and Wednesday.

Garrison Precinct

Burglary: A clothes washer, clothes dryer and a refrigerator, all valued at nearly $1,000, were stolen between June 7 and Monday from a house under construction in the 4500 block of Ingrham Road.

Towson Precinct

Burglary: A compact disc player of unknown value was stolen Wednesday from a house in the 8700 block of Emge Road.
