Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Western District

Shooting: A man, 30, was at Edmondson Avenue and Monroe Street about 4: 30 p.m. yesterday when a gunman shot him in the right arm. Detective Jerry Weaver said the victim drove himself to the 1700 block of W. North Ave., where an ambulance took him to Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Weaver said the victim was in serious but stable condition. He said no arrest had been made and a motive was not known.

Eastern District

Burglary/arrest: A police officer was in the 300 block of E. North Ave. on Sunday when he saw a man leaving a vacant city-owned house. When he asked the man what he was doing in the house, the man said he lived there. The officer arrested the man and charged him with burglary.

Theft: Someone entered a 1993 Freightliner tractor and a 1995 International truck parked in the 3700 block of E. Monument St. on Sunday and stole a 40-channel citizens band radio from one vehicle and stereo equipment from another. The property was valued at nearly $500.

Arson/arrests: Five boys between ages 11 and 16 were arrested Sunday and charged with setting fire to a vacant house in the 500 block of E. 23rd St., causing $14,000 damage.

Robbery: A woman, 33, was in a liquor store in the 400 block of N. Washington St. about midnight Sunday when a man stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at nearly $100.

Northern District

Burglary: Three bicycles with a combined value of more than $1,200 were stolen Sunday from two garages in the 5200 block of Springlake Way.

Robbery: Two women were in the 2500 block of N. Charles St. about 5 p.m. Sunday when a man who implied he was armed with a handgun robbed them of $80.

Southern District

Burglary: A gold ring with "Dad" engraved on it and valued at $1,100 was stolen Sunday from a house in the 4100 block of Audrey Ave. The thief entered with a key.

Theft: Power tools valued at more than $1,000 were stolen Sunday from a 1997 Ford pickup truck parked in the 4200 block of Doris Ave.

Burglary: A compact disc player, cassette player and stereo equipment, all valued at $1,000, were stolen Sunday from a house in the 1200 block of S. Charles St. The thief entered after breaking a window.

Robbery: A man choked an employee of the Handi-Mart, a grocery store in the 1200 block of Sargeant St., about 2 p.m. Sunday before robbing the store of more than $70.

Baltimore County

White Marsh Precinct:

Burglary: A 35 mm camera and a jar full of coins, all valued at nearly $300, were stolen Saturday from a house in the 9800 block of Fontana Lane. The thief entered through a patio door.

Towson Precinct

Robbery: A man, 20, was using an outside pay phone at York Road and Aigburth Avenue about 9 p.m. Sunday when a gunman placed a weapon in his back and robbed him of $25. After the gunman fled, the victim called police. A search of the area failed to locate the gunman.

Cockeysville Precinct

Burglary: A guitar and several compact discs, all valued at more than $6,000, were stolen Sunday from an apartment in the 1000 block of N. Misty Lynn Circle. The thief entered through a window.

Wilkens Precinct

Burglary: Someone entered a house in the 3000 block of Pennsylvania Ave. through a side window Sunday and stole a compact disc player, stereo equipment and fishing tackle.

Burglary: Gold jewelry of unknown value was stolen Sunday from the living room of a house in the 900 block of Oakmoor Drive. The thief entered through an unlocked front door.
