Athletics: Jason Giambi was out of the lineup for the second straight day because of a sore left hamstring. Ben Grieve has 10 RBIs in his past 14 games for the A's after driving in just 12 runs in his first 39 games this season.

Blue Jays: Outfielder Shannon Stewart sat out with a bruised hand after getting hit by a pitch on Saturday. He is day-to-day.

Mets: Benny Agbayani had not hit more than 11 home runs in a pro season until this year. Along with his 10 for the Mets, he hit eight in 101 at-bats for Triple-A Norfolk before his promotion May 12.

Pirates: First baseman Kevin Young has nine errors, one more than he had last year. Pittsburgh is beginning its longest road trip of the season. The 12-game, 14-day trip will take the team to Los Angeles, San Diego, Philadelphia and Milwaukee.
