Italian American Charities

MARYLAND SCENE

June 13, 1999|By Sloane Brown

The colors of Italy dressed the Associated Italian American Charities' 54th annual dinner dance. The tables at Martin's West were covered in red, green and white, as were the Bali D'Italia Dancers, who performed Italian folk dances for a crowd of almost 800.

Among the people decorating the party: Jay Matricciani, AIAC president; Judge Lawrence Daniels and Vince Piscopo, event co-chairs; Paul Russo, Anthony DiPaula and Tony Corbi, the evening's honorees; Guy Matricciani, Nick Detorie and Joe Campitelli, board members; Lou Mazzulli, president of Hospital Support Services Inc.; Tonie Wallace, chief operating officer of Maryland Court Reporting and Video Services; Lou Marzullo, president of Junior Press Printing Service Inc.; and Mary Singleton, supervisor for Broadway Services Inc.

Party-goers dined on stuffed veal chops at dinner, then danced to the tunes of Fancy Pants. The event raised more than $50,000 for local charities and scholarships for area college students.
