Man charged in attempt to abduct boy, 8

A man was arrested without incident yesterday and charged in the attempted abduction of an 8-year-old boy on June 3.

Police said Jason Knight, 34, of the 1100 block of St. Paul St. was charged with attempted abduction, assault and possession of a knife. Police said Knight, who was arrested outside his home shortly after midnight and charged with indecent exposure, was being held at the Central Booking and Intake Center.

Police said a man with a stuffed animal in the front seat of his car tried to abduct the boy in the 2100 block of Park Ave. in Reservoir Hill about 7: 45 p.m. June 3.

The boy was chased through a park by a man with a knife, police said. The investigation is continuing.
