Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Central District

Shooting: During a fight between several men about 2: 30 a.m. yesterday in the 300 block of W. Saratoga St., one of the combatants took out a handgun and fired several shots, hitting one man in the left leg and groin. The gunman fled and the victim was treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Robbery try: A woman accosted and tried to rob another woman, 85, about 9: 30 p.m. Saturday outside the victim's house in the 1000 block of N. Calvert St. The victim was uninjured.

Northwestern District

Vehicle sought: A man driving a white pickup truck with partial tags 62F failed to stop for two bike patrol officers, who saw him commit a traffic violation in the 4300 block of Park Heights Ave. about 5: 30 p.m. yesterday. A female passenger in the truck fell out of the vehicle when it struck a curb in the 4100 block of Towanda Ave. Moments later, a plainclothes officer, who also was in the 4100 block of Towanda Ave., fired at least one shot at the vehicle when the driver tried to run over him. The woman, 39, was treated at Sinai Hospital for minor injuries and was to be interviewed by police.

Baltimore County

North Point Precinct

Shooting: A man, 39, was in a woods off Willow Spring Road near Center Place about 4 p.m. Sunday when another man shot him in the upper left leg and lower back. The gunman escaped and the victim was treated at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

Cockeysville Precinct

Break-in: A man broke into a home in the first block of Ferns Court about 5 a.m. Sunday and touched a woman who was sleeping. She cried out and he fled.
