Cardinals: It was St. Louis' first trip into Tiger Stadium since the 1968 World Series.

Red Sox: Jeff Frye's steal of home was Boston's first since 1996, when Mo Vaughn and Mike Greenwell did it. Pedro Martinez is 5-5 in his career against the Braves, including a 10-6 win last year at Atlanta. He was 4-5 with the Expos.

Tigers: First baseman Tony Clark, who went on the 15-day DL May 26 with a sprained right collarbone, took batting practice for the first time since the injury. Clark said he felt no pain, and trainer Russ Miller was optimistic Clark would return on time.
