Student of the Week

June 02, 1999

To show students that doing well can bring them recognition, the Citizens Advisory Committee of Quarterfield Elementary School in Glen Burnie has asked The Sun to help publicize its Student of the Week. Winners of the honor must write about themselves.

My Life: My name is Ashleigh Daniella Garrity and I'm in the fifth grade. My favorite subjects are science and phys ed. I like playing sports, especially basketball and volleyball. I have a fish, dog, pig and lizard named Lilly. She's a green anole, but when we fix the big aquarium we're going to get a Jackson's chameleon. I live with my mom, dad and little sister, who is in kindergarten.

My favorite foods are spaghetti, steak and pancakes. My favorite place to eat is at IHOP because of their pancakes.

Many of my relatives live in Florida, so we're probably going to move there in a few years.

When I grow up I want to be a singer like the Spice Girls. My favorite Spice Girl is Posh. I want to sing like her. I can't wait until I grow up and can be a singer. My life is exciting and fun.
