Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Northern District

Shooting: A man, 39, was standing on the front porch of a house in the 300 block of E. 28th St. about 5: 50 a.m. Sunday when another man robbed him of an undisclosed sum of money and shot him. No arrest had been made and the victim was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Southern District

Shooting: A man, 35, walking in the 3800 block of Ninth St. in Brooklyn about 11: 15 p.m. Saturday was shot once in the back by another man, who was riding a bicycle. The gunman escaped and the victim was treated at Harbor Hospital Center. His condition was not available.

Southeastern District

Robbery/shooting: A gunman shot the attendant of an Exxon service station in the 6400 block of Eastern Ave. about 3 a.m. Sunday and stole an undisclosed sum of money. The attendant, 44, was treated at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. His condition was not known.

Central District

Theft/arrest: A man was arrested Friday and charged with stealing three cases of meat products from a 1997 Ford truck parked in the 1100 block of Pennsylvania Ave. The truck is owned by Henry W. Stapf Inc., a meat products firm. While the truck driver was chasing him, the suspect dropped one of the cases. Larry Wiggins, 35, of the 1300 block of Division St. was arrested later and charged with theft.

Robbery: Two men were walking in the 1500 block of Pennsylvania Ave. about 8 a.m. Saturday when a gunman robbed one of them of more than $200.

Burglary: Stereo equipment, a television, 20 compact discs, a boom-box radio, a videocassette recorder and two lamps, all valued at nearly $1,800, were stolen Friday from an apartment in the 800 block of Eutaw St.

Robbery: A man known as Tony was being sought in the theft of $1,000 from an apartment Friday in the 1800 block of St. Paul St.

Burglary: Money was stolen Saturday from a vending machine at the Police Athletic League recreation center in the 1600 block of Madison Ave.

Robbery: A gunman pointed a weapon at the head of a male motorist, who was stopped about noon Friday in the 1900 block of N. Charles St., and robbed him of $600.

Baltimore County

Towson Precinct

Arson: A floor mat in the lobby of the Oakleigh Apartments in the 1800 block of Dalhousie Court was set afire about 1 a.m. Saturday. Police said it was the third such incident there in two months.
