Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Southeastern District

Shooting: A male, 17, was playing basketball in the 100 block of S. Bethel St. about 5: 15 p.m. Sunday when he heard a gunshot and felt a pain in his left leg. The boy ran to the 200 block of Herring Court, where he was found by police and taken by ambulance to Johns Hopkins Hospital for treatment. No arrest has been made.

Northwestern District

Carjacking/arrest: A woman, 41, picked up a man downtown early yesterday and drove him to the 2300 block of Wichita Ave., where a boy got into the car. The woman was told to drive to Park Heights and Woodland avenues, where she was struck with a metal object, robbed and forced out of her 1990 Oldsmobile. The woman called police. At Carlins Park and Druid Park drives, the car was stopped by Officer Courtney Todman. The man got out and pointed what appeared to be a weapon at Todman, who fired one shot. The man, who may have been hit, ran into a wooded area. A search by dogs and a state police helicopter failed to find him. At the scene, police arrested the teen-ager and charged him as a juvenile with armed carjacking. Nearby, police recovered a tire iron believed to be the weapon that the man pointed at Todman.

Western District

Shootings: Three men were sitting on the front steps of a house in the 1900 block of Mosher St. about 5: 15 p.m. yesterday when two men, one with a handgun, fired several shots at them. Detective Valencia Vaughn said one man was hit in the chest and another in the right hip, forehead and right arm. The third man was not wounded. Vaughn said the victim with the chest wound was in critical condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where the other man was in stable condition.

Southern District

Theft from vehicle: More than $2,000 worth of American Express traveler checks, a 35 mm camera, a camera bag and cash, all valued at $4,000, were stolen Sunday from a 1987 Nissan parked in the first block of S. Charles St.

Central District

Theft from vehicle: Sports equipment and a travel bag containing clothing, all valued at more than $1,000, were stolen Sunday from a 1995 Nissan parked in the 100 block of S. Charles St.

Robbery: A boy, 14, was in the first block of S. Calvert St. about 4 p.m. Sunday when a gunman robbed him of a shopping bag containing shirts and a cap, all valued at more than $60, he had purchased earlier.

Eastern District

Shooting: A boy, 14, was in the rear of the 1700 block of N. Chapel St. about 2: 15 p.m. yesterday when a man shot him in the back. The youth was treated for a nonlife-threatening wound and was unable to tell police who shot him or why.

Robbery: A man, 56, was in the 1800 block of E. Eager St. about 5: 30 p.m. Sunday when a man armed with a penknife robbed him of $100. At North Wolfe and East Madison streets, police stopped a man fitting the robber's description. After being identified by the victim, the man, 36, was charged with armed robbery.

Baltimore County

Garrison Precinct

Stolen truck: A red 1993 Ford F-250 pickup truck with tags 1CE 848 was stolen Sunday in the 100 block of Delight Road.

Stolen car: Police were seeking a white four-door 1993 Hyundai Sonata with tags AYF 924 that was stolen Sunday in the 8200 block of Liberty Road.
