Printing company to move operations to Glen Burnie

The Piedmont Group, a commercial printing company, recently signed a lease with HMC Limited Partnership for 45,000 square feet of industrial space at 6711 Bay Meadow Drive in Glen Burnie.

The company, which currently operates from locations in Towson and Hyattsville, will use the facility to consolidate operations.

BWI career fair to include workshops and companies

A career fair will be held from noon to 8 p.m. tomorrow at the International Pier at Baltimore-Washington International Airport. Workshops will be conducted on resume writing and interviewing skills.

Employers participating in the career fair will include Southwest Airlines, Abacus Corp., Airport Group International, Allines, Boston Market, Celebrate Maryland!, The Chimes, Creditrust, Hertz, Private Car, Signature Flight Support, Airport Shuttle, Avis Rent-A-Car, Delta Airlines, Host Marriott, Hudson General, LSG Sky Chefs, Manpower Technical, Maryland Parking, Northwest Airlines, Piedmont Airlines, SETA, SuperShuttle, Thrifty Car Rental, Wackenhut, Wendy's Restaurant and US Airways.

State agencies including the Maryland Aviation Administration, the Mass Transit Administration, the Department of Transportation, the Transportation Authority, the Port Administration and the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation will also be represented.

Preparing a business plan topic of Wednesday seminar

Service Corps of Retired Executives Chapter 390 will conduct a "Let's Prepare a Business Plan" seminar from 8: 45 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday on the lower level of the Conte Building, 116 Defense Highway, Annapolis. The fee is $35 and open to the public.

Public relations society to hold luncheon Thursday

The Annapolis-Anne Arundel Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America will meet at noon Thursday at Griffin's West, 2049 West St., Annapolis.

E. Lyle Henderson, specialist in university relations at the University of Maryland, will speak on "Dealing With Diverse Publics."

Workshops to offer tips on resumes, job hunting

The YWCA of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County plans two job skill workshops in June. Resume writing will be held on June 1, and job hunt strategies on June 15, at the YWCA Career Services, 1517 Ritchie Hwy., Arnold. Both are from 12: 30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Business women's group offers $2,000 scholarship

Maryland Capital Chapter of the American Business Women's Association will sponsor a scholarship through the Stephen Bufton Memorial Education Fund. The $2,000 nonrenewable scholarship is for tuition, books and fees.

Applicants must be women who are U.S. citizens and residents of Anne Arundel County; college freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors or graduates in August; and must have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale.
