Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Southeastern District

Burglary: Property valued at nearly $2,000 was stolen Wednesday from a garage in the 1100 block of S. Clinton St.

Southern District

Theft: While the owner of a car that had broken down on Interstate 95 near the White Marsh exit ramp Tuesday night was seeking a tow truck, someone entered the unattended vehicle and stole a .380 semiautomatic handgun valued at $400.

Eastern District

Theft/assault: After being arrested Wednesday by a security officer at the Super Pride supermarket in the 1600 block of Harford Ave. for stealing two packs of meat products valued at more than $7, a man assaulted the officer and stuck him with a sharp object. Antonio Smith, of the Watkins Security Agency Inc., was not injured. The man, 36, was charged with theft and assault and processed at the Central Booking and Intake Center.

Burglary: A videocassette recorder, 12-inch crystal clock, three chairs and videotapes, all valued at $1,000, were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 2700 block of E. Chase St.

Stolen car: A man stole a silver, two-door, 1999 Mercedes Benz with tags FGL 140 in the 2400 block of Aisquith St. Wednesday. The owner left the keys in the ignition.

Baltimore County

North Point Precinct

Burglary: A 140-horsepower outboard motor valued at more than $4,000 was removed Wednesday from a boat stored at Bay Marine in the 2800 block of North Point Blvd.

Theft: A compact disc player, amplifier and speakers, all valued at nearly $1,000, were stolen Wednesday from a 1991 Honda Prelude parked in the 6900 block of Norman Ave.

Woodlawn Precinct

Theft: Computer equipment valued at more than $1,500 was stolen Wednesday from Magic Motors in the 5900 block of Liberty Road.

Towson Precinct

Robbery: A woman was standing in the driveway of her home in the 800 block of Fairway about 9 p.m. Wednesday when a man stole her purse containing personal identification, $12, a checkbook and a cellular phone. The man drove off in a black car parked nearby.

White Marsh Precinct

Arson: A fire was set in a second-floor bedroom in a townhouse at Garden Village Townhouses in the 6000 block of Barstow Road about 5 a.m. Wednesday. There was estimate of damage and no injuries were reported.

Burglary: A 1992 Chrysler LeBaron convertible, keys and dealer tag 1A75256 were stolen from C & N Auto Brokers in the 8500 block of Philadelphia Road overnight Tuesday.
