Friends, John Carroll advance to B title game

No. 10 Quakers, Martin take down Park, 19-6

Jake Martin scored four goals, and Chris Condlin added three, helping No. 10-ranked Friends easily defeat visiting Park, 19-6, in the semifinals of the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association B Conference tournament yesterday.

The Quakers (12-3) scored five consecutive goals in the first half and held at least a five-goal margin the rest of the way.

John Carroll 12, Archbishop Curley 8: John Mundth scored three goals and added three assists to lead the host Patriots (10-6) over the Friars in the other MIAA B Conference semifinal.

John Carroll led 6-1 in the second quarter and outshot Curley, 37-19, for the game.

John Carroll will play Friends in the championship game at 6 p.m. Friday at Johns Hopkins' Homewood Field.

Glenelg Country 9, Sts. Peter & Paul 1: Kevin Eyre scored four goals and an assist to lead the host Dragons (8-2) to the finals of the MIAA C Conference tournament.

Annapolis Area Christian 20, Cardinal Gibbons 4: The Eagles (14-2) scored nine unanswered goals over the first two quarters en route to the easy victory. Alex Bitzer led Annapolis Area Christian with four goals and four assists.
