Devil Rays: Shortstop Kevin Stocker left after being hit in the lower back by a pitch. Tampa Bay held a "Twins Night" promotion in which twins Aaron and Amanda Taylor of Clearwater, Fla., won a trip to Minneapolis-St. Paul on June 18-20 and the chance to manage the St. Paul Saints of the Northern League for a game.

Mariners: Seattle has have not won a season series with the Red Sox since 1989. Seattle has won two of its last 10 games at Fenway Park. David Bell's home run tied a career high. He had 14 career homers entering this season.

Tigers: Rookie Jeff Weaver (3-3) had the shortest and worst of his six major-league starts, giving up four runs and seven hits in four-plus innings. His ERA rose from 2.48 to 3.27. The loss was the second straight for Detroit, ending a 10-game run of alternating wins and losses.
