City police are seeking three men in the fatal shooting early yesterday of three men on a West Baltimore street.

Agent Ragina L. Cooper, a police spokeswoman, said a maroon car occupied by three men stopped in the 800 block of Harlem Ave. about 3 a.m., and that a man armed with a handgun got out of the vehicle and fired several shots at three men, fatally wounding them.

One of the victims was sitting on the steps of 855 Harlem Ave., and two others were standing or walking nearby, Cooper said.

Cooper said Tyrell Whitaker, 19, and Sylvester Logan, 23, both of the 800 block of Harlem Ave., and Michael Lee Jr., 30, of Silver Spring, were each shot several times.

Cooper said Whitaker and Lee were pronounced dead at the scene and Logan died a short time later at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Cooper said it was not known which of the victims was the gunman's intended target. No motive was known, she said.
