Langmead, Procyk advance at McCormick & Co.

McCormick & Co., the Sparks-based spice maker, appointed Charles T. Langmead as vice president and general manager for its food service group and Michael S. Procyk as director of accounting and financial planning in the McCormick/Schilling Division.

Langmead, a resident of Ellicott City, received a master's degree from Johns Hopkins University and is active with the International Foodservice Manufacturers Association and the Restaurant Association of Maryland.

Procyk, a certified public accountant, formerly was with the Campbell Soup Co. A member of several professional organizations, the Bel Air resident is an MBA graduate of Drexel University.

Sheraton Inner Harbor names Plaisted controller

Sheraton Inner Harbor named Mark Plaisted as controller of the downtown hotel. With the Sheraton chain since 1992, the Odenton resident is a graduate of Bentley College. He formerly was with the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers.


Baum, Kempske join Gray as senior account executives

Gray, Kirk/VanSant added Scott Baum and Kevin Kempske to the staff of the Baltimore advertising and public relations firm as senior account executives.

Baum, a graduate of the College of William & Mary, formerly was marketing director for Anshen+Allen. Kempske, a Towson resident, was manager, public affairs policy for CF Industries Inc. and is a graduate of Towson University.

Banking and finance

Butler Capital names Cho Asian markets director

Butler Capital Corp., headquartered in Hunt Valley, hired Won Min Cho as director of Asian markets for the private lender's sales team. He will develop new business in the Baltimore-Washington area, centering on the dry cleaning industry. The Korean native is a resident of Prince George's County.

A former Butler Capital client, he is the owner of four dry cleaning facilities in Frederick County and in Washington, and is active with the Korean Dry Cleaners Association.


Jackson is project manager for Mullan Contracting

Mullan Contracting Co. appointed Rick C. Jackson to the staff of the nearly century-old Lutherville general contracting firm as a project manager. He will head the company's current construction of a new athletic stadium at Calvert Hall College high school in Towson.

Jackson is a graduate of Grambling State University. The Woodlawn resident formerly was with Essex Construction, based in Oxon Hill.

Health care

Thrush, Seraphin, Kozak take posts at MedStar

MedStar Health named Nancy Freeman Thrush marketing manager, S. Dominic Seraphin director of consumer marketing, and Laura Kozak director of creative services.

Thrush will provide strategic marketing direction and oversee marketing research. A graduate of Towson University, she formerly was an account manager with Barry Blau & Associates and is a master's candidate at Johns Hopkins University.

Seraphin, a Baltimore resident, is a graduate of George Washington University and a former senior manager at St. Agnes HealthCare. He will supervise the system's five Baltimore-area hospitals' consumer and service line marketing functions.

Kozak, a resident of Bel Air, holds a master's degree from the University of Baltimore and will oversee the writing, design and creative process of system publications, direct-mail and advertising campaigns.

Commercial real estate

Struever Bros. names Mills business development chief

Struever Bros. Eccles & Rouse named Kenneth F. Mills Jr. director of business development for the Baltimore commercial builder and developer. Mills will develop and implement plans to secure third-party work for its construction division. He formerly was a vice president with Hess Construction Co. of Gaithersburg. The Johns Hopkins University graduate is active with the local American Institute of Architects chapter and the Blue Jays Unlimited.
