Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Northeastern District

Robbery try/shooting: A man, 19, was in the 4400 block of Shamrock Ave. about 4: 30 p.m. yesterday when two men, one with a handgun, tried to rob him. Detective Pete Henry of the Violent Crimes Task Force said the victim resisted, grabbed the gun and was shot in the neck. Henry said the two men fled without taking money. The victim was in stable condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Southern District

Carjacking try/arrest: A woman, 28, was getting into her 1996 Honda Accord in the first block of E. Henrietta St. about 9 p.m. Monday when a man shoved her into the passenger seat and tried to drive away. He threatened her with scissors and robbed her of $100 before she kicked him and he fled. Officers William Beavers and Gregory Bailor captured a suspect after a foot chase of several blocks and recovered scissors and money believed taken in the robbery. Elmo Silver, 38, of the 800 block of N. Linwood Ave. was charged with attempted carjacking, assault with a deadly weapon and related offenses. He was being held without bail at the Central Booking and Intake Center.

Northern District

Theft from vehicle: A compact disc player and several compact discs were stolen from a 1992 Honda parked Monday in the 200 block of E. 31st St.

Theft from vehicle: Gold jewelry, a charm bracelet, two electric drills, hand tools, cologne, several compact discs and 20 cassette tapes, all valued at almost $1,400, were stolen Monday from a car parked in the 2000 block of Maryland Ave.

Central District

Robbery: A man panhandling in the first block of S. Calvert St. was assaulted by four men about 10 p.m. Monday and robbed of $4. He was treated at Mercy Medical Center for minor injuries.

Theft: A man's credit card was stolen April 9 when he left it on a table in the Cheesecake Factory in the 200 block of E. Pratt St. It was used to make $500 in purchases the next day. The theft was reported Monday.

Robbery: On Monday, a gunman robbed Tisha's Mini Market in the 300 block of W. Saratoga St. of cash and cigarettes, all valued at almost $38.

Theft from vehicle: Seventy-eight tickets to Orioles games, valued at almost $1,500, were stolen April 7 from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of S. Eutaw St. The theft was reported Monday.

Burglary: A fax machine, telephone and calculator, all valued at almost $350, were stolen Friday or Saturday from a construction company trailer parked in the 800 block of Martin Luther King Blvd.

Robbery: A man, 36, was walking in the 200 block of Brexton St. about 1 p.m. Monday when a man pressed a knife to his neck and robbed him of his wallet and $10.

Theft from vehicle: A cellular phone valued at more than $60 was stolen Monday from a 1997 Jeep parked in the 100 block of W. Conway St.

Baltimore County

North Point Precinct

Assault/arrest: Two men were arguing in a house in the 8000 block of Midhaven Road about 9 p.m. Monday when one cut the other on the head and arms with scissors. The victim declined medical treatment, and the other man was charged with first-degree assault.

Burglary: Lawn-care and garden equipment valued at more than $500 were stolen Monday from a garage in the 3000 block of Dunmore Road.

Towson Precinct

Burglary: Someone broke into a county senior citizens center in the 1800 block of Glen Keith Blvd. between Thursday and Monday and turned over a bookcase and placed a couch on a pool table.
