Zeier: `No hard feelings'

April 20, 1999|By Gary Lambrecht

Backup quarterback Eric Zeier, traded by the Ravens to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday, said he leaves the club with "no hard feelings."

"There's always going to be a part of me that cares for the Ravens and the Modells and the opportunity they gave me," Zeier, who started seven games during his three-year tenure in Baltimore, said yesterday. "But I'm excited to be going to Tampa.

"Coach [Brian] Billick was very upfront and honest about what they were looking for [at quarterback]. If they could get Warren Moon or Tony Banks [as a backup], I knew I would be traded.

"There were no hard feelings, no bad blood. They were very professional. We ended on a good note."
