Hofstra edges Navy for 8th straight win

Eighth-ranked Mids suffer 2nd consecutive loss, 8-7

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. — HEMPSTEAD, N.Y.-- Michael Laurano's extra-man goal 20 seconds into the fourth quarter broke a tie and Frank Flocco scored the game-winner with 2: 59 left as No. 12 Hofstra edged No. 8 Navy, 8-7, in men's lacrosse last night at Hofstra Stadium.

The victory marked Hofstra's eighth consecutive win. Navy (5-5) dropped its second straight game.

Chris Eisenhart led the Flying Dutchmen (8-2) with three goals and Brad Obloj and Laurano had a goal and an assist each.

Brad Gilroy led the Mids with four goals.
