Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Eastern District

Shooting: A man, 21, was sitting on the front steps of a house in the 2500 block of E. Biddle St. about midnight Tuesday when a passenger in a passing car fired at least four shots from a 9 mm handgun, hitting him and his dog. The man was treated for a wound to the left ankle at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and the dog was put to sleep at the city animal shelter. No arrest had been made.

Shooting/arrest: A woman was shot in the abdomen with a .38-caliber handgun about 3 a.m. Wednesday during an argument with a man in their apartment in the 2000 block of E. North Ave. The woman was in fair condition yesterday at Johns Hopkins Hospital. The man, 22, was arrested.

Shooting: A man, 28, was in the 800 block of N. Washington St. about 1: 30 a.m. Wednesday when an occupant of a passing van shot him in the lower back with a shotgun. The victim was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital. No arrest had been made.

Central District

Robbery: Two men, one with a box cutter, entered a man's apartment in the 800 block of George St. on Tuesday and robbed him of a 13-inch television, electric iron, telephone and clothing, all valued at nearly $700. The robbery was reported Wednesday.

Robbery: A gunman robbed a man, 53, of his sunglasses, valued at $20, Wednesday in the 700 block of Pennsylvania Ave.

Burglary: Jewelry was stolen Tuesday from an apartment in the 1000 block of Park Ave. The victim told police Wednesday that rings, necklaces, bracelets and three video games, all valued at nearly $1,800, were taken.

Southern District

Robbery: A gunman robbed a man, 29, of more than $200 Wednesday in the 1200 block of Hollins St.

Burglary: Stereo equipment valued at $350 was stolen Tuesday from a house in the 400 block of Folsom St.

Northern District

Theft: Two dozen compact discs valued at nearly $300 were stolen Wednesday from a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier parked in the 2700 block of N. Charles St.

Stolen car: A 1998 Toyota with New York tags Y58 0HE was stolen Wednesday in the 3200 block of N. Charles St.

Burglary: Computer equipment, a telephone, an answering machine, a fax machine, $50 and a postage stamp meter, all valued at more than $3,000, were stolen Wednesday from Episcopal Church of the Nativity in the 400 block of Cedarcroft Road.

Baltimore County

Woodlawn Precinct

Bank robbery: A man robbed First Union Bank in the 1700 block of N. Rolling Road of an undisclosed sum of money about 12: 15 p.m. yesterday after giving a teller a holdup note.

White Marsh Precinct

Robbery: A woman, 52, was in the 4900 block of Hazelwood Ave. about 9 p.m. Wednesday when a man stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at more than $50.

Towson Precinct

Burglary: An undisclosed sum of cash was stolen Tuesday from a room at Days Inn in the 8800 block of Loch Raven Blvd.

North Point Precinct

Theft from vehicle: Property valued at more than $300 was stolen Wednesday from a car in the 8100 block of Wise Ave.

Burglary: A four-wheel all-terrain vehicle valued at $5,000 was stolen Wednesday from a shed in the 2900 block of Sollers Point Road.

Burglary: A Tomas mo-ped valued at more than $1,000 was stolen Wednesday from a house in the 7600 block of Dunmanway.

Stolen car: A silver-colored 1996 Ford Taurus with tags ERT 826 was stolen Tuesday in the 2000 block of Merritt Ave.
