Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Northwestern District

Shooting: While looking through the peephole of his front door in response to a knock about 3: 25 a.m. yesterday, a resident of the 6600 block of Eberle Drive was shot in the chest through the door. The assailant fled and the victim was in stable condition yesterday at Sinai Hospital. Police knew of no motive for the shooting.

Robbery: A man, 46, was in the 4300 block of Eldorado Ave. about 11 p.m. Tuesday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of his wallet containing credit cards but no cash. The victim was struck on the head with the gun but was not seriously injured.

Central District

Theft: Someone caused $300 damage while removing coins from a vending machine on the 17th floor of the Legg Mason Building in the 100 block of Light St. on Tuesday.

Burglary: A videocassette recorder and a television, all valued at more than $200, were stolen Tuesday from an apartment in the 2300 block of Eutaw Place.

Theft: A man stole three books, all valued at nearly $80, from Avenue News at Lafayette Market in the 1700 block of Pennsylvania Ave. on Tuesday.

Theft: A cellular phone, tennis shoes and baseball equipment, all valued at nearly $400, were stolen Tuesday from a 1992 Mitsubishi parked in the 800 block of Fallsway.

Theft: Police were seeking a man who entered a house in the 500 block of W. Hoffman St. on Sunday and stole several compact discs, a pair of boots and at least two video games, all valued at nearly $250.

Southern District

Stolen car: A rented two-door gold-colored 1999 Chevrolet with tags DHR 230 was stolen Tuesday in the 3400 block of Annapolis Road.

Burglary: Someone entered a locker at Baltimore Public Storage in the 1000 block of W. Patapsco Ave. on Tuesday and stole power tools, recycling equipment, welding tools and other property, all valued at more than $19,000.

Stolen car: A black 1989 Chevrolet Blazer with tags 768513M was stolen Tuesday in the first block of S. Schroeder St.

Burglary: A furnace, water heater and a gas stove were stolen Tuesday from a house being renovated in the 1400 block of Towson St.

Baltimore County

Woodlawn Precinct

Robbery: Two men, one armed with a semiautomatic handgun, robbed Congress Auto Service Center in the 6700 block of Dogwood Road of an undisclosed sum of money about 5 p.m. yesterday.

Essex Precinct

Burglary: A compact disc player valued at $85 was stolen from a 20-foot boat parked in the 2000 block of Turkey Point Road between Saturday and Tuesday.

Burglary: Sports equipment of unknown value was stolen from a storage locker in the 1500 block of Martin Blvd. between Saturday and Tuesday.

Robbery: Police continue to seek two men, one armed with a rifle and the other a knife, who robbed Bay City Liquors in the 10100 block of Bird River Road of more than $100 about 8: 30 p.m. Friday. Anyone with information about the identities of the men should call the precinct at 410-887-0220.

Burglary: An outboard motor, nail gun and other tools, all valued at nearly $3,000, were stolen Tuesday from a garage in the 7200 block of Green Bank Road.

Cockeysville Precinct

Burglary: Someone broke into Woodhall Wine Cellar in the 17900 block of York Road in Parkton between April 2 and April 4 and stole several wine storage containers valued at nearly $8,000.

Robbery: A guest at the Red Roof Inn in the 100 block of W. Timonium Road was about to enter his car parked on the motel lot about 7: 25 p.m. Tuesday when a man knocked him to the ground, stole his keys and drove off in his gray 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee with tags M230743 and valued at $24,000.
