Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Western District

Robbery/shooting: A gunman shot a man in the back and robbed him of his bicycle about 1: 15 p.m. yesterday at West Baltimore and North Poppleton streets. Ronald Gene Watson, 40, of the 1300 block of Gorsuch Ave. was in serious condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Central District

Shooting: A man, 45, was shot in the left side of the chest about 11 p.m. Monday as he was entering his mother's house in the 2100 block of Mount Royal Terrace. He was in serious condition yesterday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Theft: Police are investigating the theft of more than $3,000 from Kinko's Copies in the 300 block of N. Charles St. An employee said the money was placed in a night deposit Sunday, but when the company's manager checked the next day, the bank told him the money was not deposited. Charges are pending.

Theft: Someone entered a 1989 Nissan parked Monday in the 100 block of Concord St. and stole 120 compact discs valued at $1,300.

Southern District

Stolen car: A 1986 Honda Prelude with unknown temporary tags was stolen Monday in the 600 block of Cherry Hill Road.

Robbery: A man, 35, was in the 1300 block of Pontiac Ave. about 7 p.m. Monday when a man came up from behind and stole his carrying bag containing cash and property, all valued at $137.

Theft from vehicle: Two compact disc players, compact discs and a cellular phone, all valued at nearly $300, were stolen Monday from a 1994 Plymouth Voyager parked in the 400 block of S. Charles St.

Theft: Someone entered a house Monday in the 1700 block of W. Pratt St. and stole a compact disc player valued at more than $100.

Theft from vehicle: A wallet containing $60 was stolen from a 1995 Toyota Paseo parked Monday in the 800 block of S. Sharp St.

Eastern District

Burglary/arrests: Police investigating a break-in Monday at city-owned Old Town Mall Market in the 400 block of Old Town Mall arrested three men who had entered the building by forcing a door. No property was reported missing.

Baltimore County

North Point Precinct

Burglary: A thief stole lawn care equipment and tools from a shed in the first block of Township Road overnight Sunday. Several socket sets from the occupant's 1986 Ford pickup truck also were taken.

Theft: After a resident of an apartment in the 1700 block of Collingham Drive placed a telephone, answering machine and a small rug in the hallway to prepare for a new rug to be delivered Monday, someone stole the items.

Garrison Precinct

Carjack try/robbery: A woman, 29, was standing outside her car in the 900 block of Milford Mill Road in Pikesville about 7: 30 p.m. Monday when a man shoved her into the vehicle and tried to steal it. When he failed, he robbed her of $22 and fled. A short time later, police arrested a man, 32, who was being held pending charges of robbery and attempted carjacking.
