Brokers plan workshops, homeowners fair Saturday

The Real Estate Brokers of Baltimore Inc. will sponsor a homeownership fair and workshops from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Mondawmin Mall's Center Court.

The workshops will include how to qualify to buy a home, homebuyer counseling, preparing a home for sale and paperwork. Information: 410-664-7405.

The group recently honored students, real estate professionals and community leaders at its annual awards/scholarship dinner-dance at Martin's West.

Those honored included David Elam of Fannie Mae; John Oliver, Afro-American Newspapers; Tom and Bettye Smith, Long & Foster Real Estate Inc.; and St. Ambrose Housing Aid Center.

Historic Maryland Housing and O'Conor, Piper & Flynn ERA will present a seminar, "Landlording in the 21st Century" from 8: 30 a.m. to 4: 30 p.m. April 24 at the real estate firm's training center, 22 W. Padonia Road in Timonium.

Courses will include advertising and marketing, screening prospective tenants and credit reports. The price for the seminar is $75 for advance registration and $95 after Saturday. Coldwell Banker Grempler Realty Inc. announced the acquisition of Leroy Y. Haile Inc.

The property management operation is to be relocated to Coldwell Banker Grempler's corporate headquarters in Towson.

Century 21 Real Estate Corp. has recognized Steve Kuzma for reaching diamond-level status. Diamond level is awarded to an agent who has achieved Centurion award status three out of five years.

O'Conor, Piper & Flynn ERA received several awards at the 14th annual Cendant Mobility Broker International Conference in Palm Desert, Calif.

The firm collected five awards during the four-day event, which recognized Cendant Mobility Broker Network's outstanding performers. Among the awards received by O'Conor, Piper & Flynn was the Cendant Mortgage Services Most Valuable Partnership Award and the Cendant Mobility Broker Services Gold Circle of Excellence.

Long & Foster Real Estate Inc. announced that sales associates Ken Bryant (Pasadena), Bill Homans (Fort Meade/ Odenton), Victor Epstein (Pikesville), Jamie Mason (Fells Point) and Julie Maleski (Kent Island) have successfully completed its Fast Start program, a training program that includes instruction in topics ranging from marketing to real estate law.
