Blue Jays update

When the schedule came out, the Orioles were expecting to play a team managed by Tim Johnson. But his bogus war stories and subsequent firing this spring opened the door for Jim Fregosi to return to the American League. Fregosi's club split its first two games with Carlos Delgado homering in both of them before the Blue Jays fell last night, 11-9. The Orioles will miss David Wells, who picked up the win Wednesday at Minnesota. The Blue Jays get Linton, who broke into the majors with them in 1992 but spent all of last season at Triple-A Salt Lake. The Blue Jays saw Ponson once last season and raked him for three home runs in five innings. Two former Orioles, Willie Greene and Geronimo Berroa, return to Camden Yards.
