Fishing group to mark 8th anniversary Monday

THE PASADENA Sportfishing Group will celebrate its eighth anniversary at a meeting 7: 30 p.m. Monday at the Orchard Beach firehall on Solley Road. Rich Novotny and Frank Holden will discuss rigging and trolling for large spring rockfish.

The group is also sponsoring a Kids Fishing Derby from 8: 30 to 11: 30 a.m. April 17 at Lake Waterford Park. The lake will be stocked with trout, and club volunteers will help novice fishermen and supply worms for bait.

Democratic club to meet

The Stoney Creek Democratic Club will be host to a town hall meeting at 8 p.m. Wednesday at its clubhouse on Fort Smallwood Road. County Executive Janet S. Owens and Councilwoman Shirley Murphey will attend. The meeting is open to the public. For information, call 410-255-4611.

School bingo April 25

The Friends of Fort Smallwood Elementary School will sponsor a Longaberger basket bingo at 2 p.m. April 25 at the Riviera Beach firehall, 8506 Fort Smallwood Road.

Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Included in the price is 20 regular bingo game and two specials. Raffles, door prizes, snacks, baked goods and beverages will be available.
