Snyder Communications Inc. announced yesterday that it has acquired PromoTech Research Associates, a Louisville, Colo.-based full-service pharmaceutical marketing communications and direct marketing firm.

The addition of PromoTech, a leader in the growing area of outsourced pharmaceutical marketing which includes distribution of samples and educational materials, expands Snyder's array of services. PromoTech's sales have grown at a compound annual rate of almost 50 percent since 1995.

"The addition of PromoTech makes Snyder one of the few companies that can offer enhanced distribution and services for pharmaceutical marketing," Daniel M. Snyder, chairman and chief executive officer of Snyder Communications said in a statement. "Combining PromoTech's unique physician direct feedback capability and our existing pharmaceutical marketing strengths gives us the ability to reach a previously untapped market -- doctors who do not participate in traditional sampling from pharmaceutical companies."

PromoTech's presence among Snyder's services is expected to lead to the writing of more prescriptions and to more educated use of products, Carl Swanson, a spokesman for Snyder said.

Snyder is a leading provider of integrated marketing, communications and interactive solutions for Fortune 500 companies. Several other recent acquisitions have included more traditional advertising and marketing companies.
