Manchester fire volunteers install new officers for 1999

The Manchester Fire Engine and Hook & Ladder Company installed new officers recently at its annual banquet.

Administrative officers for 1999 are: Gary L. Eppley, president; Robert Wheeler, 1st vice president; Steve Miller, 2nd vice president; Anna Rae Marshall, secretary, and Elwin Wagner, assistant; Ralph Dull, treasurer, and Harvey Nott, assistant; Richard Dell, financial secretary, and Malcolm Helwig, assistant financial secretary.

The directors are: Chris Horrigan, Clyde Kreitzer, Mike Moxley, Brian Graf, Jamie Horrigan. The county executive committee members are: William Black Sr. and Malcolm Helwig. Tom Barnes is chaplain.

Line officers are: Douglas Wheeler, fire chief; Donald L. Nott Jr., deputy chief; Brian Graf, 1st assistant chief; Steve Miller, 2nd assistant chief; Chris Horrigan, 3rd assistant chief; Charles "Jake" Millender, emergency medical services captain; Danny Bloskey, 1st lieutenant; Keith Klunk, 2nd lieutenant.

Ladies Auxiliary officers are: Pat Kreitzer, president; Emma Cheshier, vice president; June Black, secretary; Linda Black, treasurer; Jean Ogg, financial secretary; Helen Eppley, chaplain; Lisa Nightingale, historian.

Junior Fire Department officers are: Brian Miller, president; Danny Nott, vice president; Melissa McMahan, secretary.

Fires

Hampstead: Firefighters responded at 12: 01 a.m. yesterday to a fire alarm in the 4200 block of Crystal Court. Units were out 17 minutes.

Manchester: Firefighters from Manchester, Hampstead and Lineboro responded at 9: 02 p.m. Monday to a chimney fire in the 2600 block of Bert Fowler Road. Units were out 38 minutes.

Hampstead: Firefighters responded at 5: 39 p.m. Monday to a fire alarm in the 900 block of S. Main St. Units were out 18 minutes.

Manchester: Firefighters from Manchester, Hampstead and Lineboro responded at 6: 19 a.m. Monday to a chimney fire in the 3000 block of Westminster St. Units were out 48 minutes.
