Dancel, High join directors of Columbia arts festival

Bernaldo J. Dancel, founder and chief executive officer of Amerix Corp., and Scott S. High, Washington Zone administration manager for Chrysler Financial, have joined the board of directors of the Columbia Festival of the Arts.

Dancel, an Ellicott City resident, founded Amerix in 1996. The Columbia-based debt management program processor provides services to the credit counseling industry and negotiates with creditors on behalf of consumers.

High, of Columbia, has spent the last 25 years in senior management positions with Chrysler Financial, a subsidiary of Chrysler Corp.

The festival's board also includes Dr. Dwight A. Burrill, president; Michael E. Hickey, vice president; and board members Jeff Agnor, Beverly Brockus, Donora Dingman, Ginni Dreier, Dr. Mary Ellen Duncan, Rodney B. Gordon, Thomas Grey, Randall M. Griffin, Donna L. Jacobs, Padraic Kennedy, J. William Knott, Pamela J. Mack, Donald Manekin, Sally Scott Marietta, David Millman, Jean F. Moon, Martin Padden, John Patinella, Lori Whipple Riordan, Alton J. Scavo, Ronald S. Schimel and Kathleen M. Sloan.

Katherine Knowles is executive director.

People

Mark E. Klotzbach, has been named vice president, commercial lending, or the Columbia Bank, a commercial bank with headquarters in Howard County. He was formerly vice president for commercial lending at Provident Bank of Maryland.

Carolyn West Price, president of Ellicott City-based Impact Marketing and Public Relations and adjunct professor of marketing at Loyola College, has been nominated for the Equal Business Opportunity Award for Individual Achievement and the Howard County Women's Hall of Fame. She was named as one of Maryland's "Top 100 Women" in 1996. Impact is an Ellicott City-based marketing communications company.
