Klaus shoots Mary Washington to win

Philip Klaus had 25 points, including two free throws with 36 seconds left, as Mary Washington defeated St. Mary's, 70-67, last night in a Capital Athletic Conference game in St. Mary's City.

The Seahawks (12-12, 7-7) led 67-66 after two free throws by Harvey Davis (13 points) with 56 seconds left. St. Mary's used an 11-2 run to tie the game at 47 with 8: 29 remaining.

Women

St. Mary's 73, Mary Washington 43: Erica Pearson had 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead the host Seahawks (17-7, 10-4) to a CAC win.

St. Mary's limited the Eagles (10-13, 4-10) to five field goals on the way to building a 32-15 lead at halftime.

Gallaudet 102, Goucher 77: Ronda Jo Miller had 21 of her game-high 31 points in the first half as the Bison (20-4, 12-2) secured home-court advantage throughout the CAC tournament, which begins Monday.

Kimberly Tolliver led the Gophers (5-18, 2-12) with 20 points.
