Won at home over North Carolina, 81-64, Saturday

Who's hot

Steve Francis did everything but hand out Valentine's Day cards Saturday in a 22-point performance against the Tar Heels. He hit eight of 12 from the field, including 4-for-6 from three-point range, had five steals, three assists and three rebounds.

Who's not

Terrell Stokes had nine assists and shut down Ed Cota against Carolina, but had another scoreless game. The senior has gone scoreless in six games this season.

Quotable "Steve Francis scares me anywhere he plays. You could put him at center and he would scare me." -- Bobby Cremins, Ga. Tech coach

The week ahead

Schedule at Georgia Tech, Sunday, 1: 30 p.m. vs. Clemson, Wednesday, 7 p.m.

What to look for

Maryland's young centers, Lonny Baxter and Mike Mardesich, will be tested by Georgia Tech's twin towers, Jason Collier and Alvin Jones. Against Clemson, it will be an emotional night as seniors Laron Profit and Terrell Stokes play their final game at Cole.

What's at stake

A win over the Yellow Jackets would clinch second in the ACC for Maryland. Also, the fifth-ranked Terps could move another step closer to a possible No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament with two victories.
