February 11, 1999|By J. Wynn Rousuck

A.R. Gurney's "The Dining Room" opens at the Spotlighters Theatre tomorrow. Part of the playwright's continuing examination of the lifestyle of upper-middle-class white Anglo-Saxon Protestants, the play consists of a series of scenes set in the room that once epitomized gracious living.

Under John Sadowsky's direction, Patrick Bangs, Victor Carr, Ron Gregory, Maria Lakkala, Lisa Ann Mix and Donna De Vilbiss portray multiple characters, ranging in age from 6 to 80, in this "dining-room" comedy spanning four decades.

Show times at the Spotlighters, 817 St. Paul St., are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays, through March 7. Tickets are $10. Call 410-752-1225.
