Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Eastern District

Rape: A woman, 37, was about to buy drugs from a man in the 1500 block of N. Montford Ave. about 5 p.m. Sunday when he persuaded her to accompany him into an alley, where he forced her to disrobe and raped her. The man fled. The woman was treated at Mercy Medical Center.

Burglary: Someone entered a house in the 2200 block of Cecil Ave. through a basement door Sunday and stole a compact disc player, 25-inch television, videocassette recorder, stereo equipment, three watches and $25.

Theft from vehicle: A cellular phone, leather jacket and a small bag containing change, all valued at $500, were stolen Sunday from a 1999 Dodge van parked in the 800 block of E. Eager St.

Robbery: A girl, 14, was in the 500 block of E. North Ave. about 11 p.m. Saturday when a teen-age boy shot her in the head with a BB rifle, shoved her to the ground and stole her boots, jacket and $10.

Arson: Police were seeking two occupants of a black Jeep seen leaving the 4300 block of Pulaski Highway about 5 a.m. Sunday after a 1994 GMC truck was set afire at U-Haul Inc. Damage to the truck was estimated at $5,000. Police said someone placed a rag in the vehicle's fuel intake tube and lighted it. Firefighters extinguished the fire.

Southern District

Shooting: A man, 19, was shot in the lower left back about 4: 45 p.m. Sunday in the 900 block of Bridgeview Road and staggered to the back of a house in the 2900 block of Spelman Ave., where police found him. He was treated at Harbor Hospital Center, then transferred to Maryland Shock Trauma Center. His condition was not available. He was shot with a 9 mm semiautomatic handgun.

Burglary: Nearly $50 was stolen Sunday from Book Rendezvous, a store in the 800 block of Light St.

Baltimore County

Cockeysville Precinct

Bank robbery: Police were seeking a man who robbed First Union Bank in the 11200 block of York Road about 3: 30 p.m. Friday of an undisclosed sum of money. The man gave a teller a note that said he was armed with a bomb and would blow up the bank. The man, who displayed no explosive device, escaped on foot.

Robbery try: A man armed with a steak knife tried to rob the Crown service station in the 2400 block of York Road about 5 a.m. Sunday but fled without taking money when a station employee standing behind a counter retrieved a baseball bat and struck him. The man fled the station and drove south on York Road in a brown van.

Burglary/arrest: A man was arrested about 3 a.m. Sunday after he allegedly broke into a dwelling in the first block of Lake Ridge Place and later assaulted a police officer. After fleeing the dwelling when surprised by an occupant, the man drove off in a 1988 Subaru that was stopped on Cedar Tree Court by several officers. When the suspect was identified as the intruder, he struggled with Officer Patrick McGlynn, who injured a knee. McGlynn was treated at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. Pedro Garcia Martinez, 31, of the first block of St. Elmo Court, Cockeysville, was charged with burglary, assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest. He was being held on $75,000 bond at the county Detention Center in Towson.
