Branka Bogunovic and Tiffany Brown each made a free throw in the final 14 seconds to lift Maryland over Wake Forest, 68-66, yesterday in an Atlantic Coast Conference game in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Deedee Warley led the Terps (5-16, 2-9) with 23 points, Kelley Gibson had 20 and Bogunovic 18.
The game was tied twice before Bogunovic's free throw with 14 seconds left put the Terps ahead to stay, 67-66.
Mount St. Mary's 67, Wagner 55: Megan Gardiner had a game-high 26 points and set a school record by making all 14 of her free-throw attempts, leading the Mountaineers (16-6, 14-2) to a Northeast Conference win over Wagner (12-9, 10-5) in Staten Island, N.Y.
Loyola 63, Rider 59: Mary Anne Kirsch had a game-high 17 points and six assists as the Greyhounds (15-6, 8-5) held off the host Dragons (5-16, 2-11) in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
Army 51, Navy 50: Laura Worthing's basket with 20 seconds left clinched a Patriot League win for the Cadets (6-17, 2-7). Worthing's shot was set up after Navy's Mandy Stephan missed the front end of a one-and-one with the Midshipmen ahead, 50-49.
Laurie Coffey led Navy (14-8, 6-3) with 18 points.
Delaware 69, Towson 67: Danielle Leyfert's basket with 0.5 seconds left propelled the host Blue Hens (14-7, 8-5) over the Tigers (10-11, 5-8) in an America East game in Newark, Del.
Mylisa Pilione led the Tigers with 14 points and Schniece Perry had 13.
Robert Morris 73, UMBC 69, OT: The host Colonials (7-15, 6-10) overcame a nine-point halftime deficit to defeat the Retrievers (9-12, 7-8) in overtime in a Northeast Conference game. Jami Lange's 21 points paced UMBC.
Coppin State 87, South Carolina State 74: Kiesha Brooks scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the host Eagles (9-11, 7-5) to a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference win.
Morgan State 61, North Carolina A&T 47: Monique Liddell led all scorers with 19 points and had 10 rebounds as the host Bears won a MEAC game.
Florida A&M 79, UMES 57: Crystal Worlds had 24 points as the Rattlers (11-9, 10-3 MEAC) blitzed the visiting Fighting Hawks (9-11, 6-6). Kristi Sheldon's 16 points led UMES, who trailed by 10 at the half.
Johns Hopkins 66, Dickinson 35: Junior guard Leslie Ritter had 13 points and five steals as the host Blue Jays (16-4, 9-1) recorded their sixth win in seven games, beating the Red Devils (5-14, 2-7).
Western Maryland 67, Franklin & Marshall 65: Sophomore Patty Russo (13 points) banked in a 25-foot jumper at the buzzer and the visiting Green Terror (16-4, 10-1) maintained its lead in the West Division of the Centennial Conference.
Jill Ibex's 17 points led Western Maryland, which failed to hold a 12-point lead.
Catholic 57, Goucher 45: Pam Canfield had a game-high 18 points to lead the host Cardinals (6-13, 2-8) over the Gophers (4-16, 1-9) in a Capital Athletic Conference game.
York 73, St. Mary's 64: The Spartans (12-8, 6-4) outscored the host Seahawks 32-13 over the final 12 minutes to claim a Capital Athletic Conference win. St. Mary's (12-7, 6-4), which led 38-28 at halftime, got a game-high 27 points from Felicia Harris.
Salisbury State 75, Mary Washington 69: Lisa Neylan's three-pointer with 3: 02 left broke a tie at 63 and propelled the host Sea Gulls (14-6, 7-3) to a CAC win.
Neylan finished with 20 points, as did Elisabeth Barfuss.
Muhlenberg 63, Washington College 59: Jennifer Risley's basket with less than 13 minutes left put the Mules (12-7, 9-1) ahead for good in a Centennial Conference game in Chestertown. The Shorewomen's Katie Bierzonski had a career-high 27 points.
Frostburg State 61, Penn State-Behrend 60: Shannon Rexrode's 20 points, 20 rebounds and blocked shot with four seconds left helped the host Bobcats (12-6, 5-2) hand the Lions their first loss in the Allegheny Mountain Conference.
Bowie State 76, Shaw 68: Kaymina Thompson had a game-high 27 points as the Bulldogs (19-3, 7-0) remained unbeaten in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
