Churches to gather ensembles for Ecumenical Music Festival

DO YOU LIKE GREAT music? Each year, groups from Crofton-area churches gather to share in an Ecumenical Music Festival. This year's festival will feature hand chimes, a recorder ensemble and handbell choirs from Community United Methodist, St. Stephen's Episcopal, Prince of Peace Presbyterian and Baldwin Memorial United Methodist churches. The celebration will be held in the Fellowship Hall of Crofton Community United Methodist Church at 4 p.m. Sunday. In case of bad weather, the festival will be held Feb. 14.

Meeting, luncheon

Prince of Peace Presbyterian Church of Crofton will hold its annual congregational meeting after the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday. A potluck luncheon will follow the meeting in Fellowship Hall. Information: the church, 410-721-1213.

Blood drive

Christ the Servant Lutheran Church is sponsoring a blood drive at the church from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. March 1. The church is in Severn Square Shopping Center on Route 175 and Ridge Road. Planning kits

Activity planning kits for Tobacco-Free Kids Week are available for free by calling Anne Arundel County Department of Health at 410-222-7979.

This year's Tobacco-Free Kids Week will be March 15-21. The kits for this countywide event include ideas for anti-tobacco activities for all ages and an order for free Tobacco-Free Kids Week supplies, such as stickers, note pads, and pencils from the Health Department's teen smoking-prevention program.

This is the fourth annual Tobacco-Free Kids Week, which is part of the Health Department's Learn to Live cancer-prevention program. Last year's event involved 99 community groups and schools and reached more than 46,000 youngsters with anti-tobacco messages.

CPR course

Crofton Civic Association will sponsor a community cardiopulmonary resuscitation course from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 20 at Town Hall. Bonnie Russell, a physical education teacher at Crofton Woods Elementary School, will be the instructor.
