An Annapolis teen-ager was shot in the lower back early yesterday in Bayridge Gardens during an apparent robbery attempt, according to the Annapolis Police Department.

Carlester Sellman, 17, of the 200 block of Gross Ave. was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was listed in serious but stable condition.

Police have charged Terrill Tyrone Furbush, 19, of the 7800 block of Willing Court in Pasadena with attempted murder.

Police were called to a parking lot in the first block of Marcs Court about 12: 05 a.m. on a report of gunshots.

Furbush, police said, told investigators that he was walking in Bayridge Gardens when he was approached by two men who tried to rob him.

Furbush told police he ran behind a car and exchanged gunfire with the men, striking one. Furbush said he ran away, tossing the gun into bushes, police said. No weapons have been found.
