Mount St. Mary's held Fairleigh Dickinson to 17.9 percent shooting in the second half to claim its fifth straight win, 50-47, last night in a Northeast Conference game in Emmitsburg.

The Mount's Gregory Harris led all scorers with 17 points.

The Knights (7-14, 4-9) led 30-23 at halftime, but the Mountaineers (11-10, 9-6) used a 16-5 run to move ahead 39-35, a lead they never relinquished.

Franklin & Marshall 78, Johns Hopkins 52: Jerome Maiatico had a game-high 28 points as the Diplomats (16-2, 7-0), who are ranked No. 6 in Division III, ended the host Blue Jays' five-game winning steak. The loss also ended Hopkins' regular-season home winning streak at 28 games.

Hopkins (14-4, 5-2) trailed 39-21 at halftime and never got closer than 15 in the second half.

Matt Geschke led the Blue Jays with 14 points.

UMES 99, Norfolk State 89: Kevin Wallace had 24 points as the Fighting Hawks (7-11, 5-6) won their third straight Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game.

Demetric Reese added 19 points for UMES, which never trailed after a 9-0 run at the start of the second half gave the Fighting Hawks a 47-44 lead.

Goucher 73, Gallaudet 55: Bakari Ward had 16 points as the Gophers breezed to a Capital Athletic Conference win. Goucher took control in the first half, shooting over 51 percent on the way to a 41-28 lead at halftime.

Haverford 64, Western Maryland 59: Despite a game-high 17 points from Mike Furey, the Green Terror (4-15, 1-7) fell to the Black Squirrels (4-13, 2-5) in a Centennial Conference game.

Salisbury State 82, York 79: Colin Exelby had a game-high 20 points to lead the Sea Gulls (9-8, 5-3) to a CAC win in Pennsylvania. Victor Jackson added 19 points and Tony Chiavelli 17 for Salisbury.

St. Mary's 74, Mary Washington 68: Harvey Davis' 16 points led four double-digit scorers as the Seahawks earned a CAC win in Fredericksburg, Va. Derrick Heard chipped in 15 points for St. Mary's.

Ursinus 84, Washington College 80: Richard Barrett led all scorers with 29 points and had 15 rebounds as the Bears (9-8, 5-2) edged the Shoremen (9-9, 3-5) in Centennial Conference action. Greg Adams led Washington College with 23 points and Steve DeVore contributed 16.
