Late foul shot defeats Loyola

Senior Kirsten Roberts made the front end of a one-and-one free-throw situation with 7.2 seconds to lift host Manhattan to a 58-57 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference victory over Loyola last night.

The game was tied at 57 when Loyola's Jina Mosley missed a layup with 11 seconds left. The Greyhounds' Jen Bongard fouled Roberts in the backcourt to set up the game-winning free throw.

The Greyhounds (11-5, 4-4) led by as many as nine points in the first half. The Jaspers (8-9, 5-4) have won four straight games.

New Hampshire 61, Towson 51: Orsi Farkas scored 18 points to power the host Wildcats (11-3, 5-2 America East) past the Tigers (8-8, 5-5).

Jill McGowan led the Tigers with 13.
