Balto. County opens its highway yards to take tree debris

Baltimore County has opened its highway department yards for residents to take tree debris from last week's ice storms.

The yards will be open 6: 30 a.m. to 4: 30 p.m. Monday through Saturday until the end of the month.The locations are:

Western area:

Halethorpe, 1947 Brady Ave., off Washington Boulevard.

Middletown: 20047 Middletown Road, 4 1/2 miles east of Interstate 83.

Reisterstown: 8 Clarks Lane, off Nicodemus Road.

Woodlawn: 7222 Windsor Mill Road.

FOR THE RECORD - The location of one of 14 highway yards and recycling centers where Baltimore County residents may drop off tree debris from last week's storms was listed incorrectly in yesterday's Maryland section. The Middletown highway yard is at 20047 Middletown Road, about 4.5 miles west of Interstate 83.

Central area:

Cockeysville-Towson: 300 Galloway Ave., off York Road.

White Hall: 19128 Graystone Road, off Wiseburg Road.

Upperco/5th District: 17128 Ridge Road, off Falls Road.

Eastern area:

Dundalk: 2200 Chesterwood Road, off Peninsula Expressway.

Essex: 14 Emala Ave., off Eastern Boulevard.

Hydes: 5239 Hydes Road, next to the post office.

Perry Hall: 7801 Perry Road, off Ridge Road.

The county's three refuse and recycling facilities also will accept debris during regular hours Monday through Saturday. They are:

Western Acceptance and Recycling Center at the end of Transway Road, off the 4500 block of Hollins Ferry Road in Halethorpe.

Resources Recovery Facility, off the 10300 block of York Road in Cockeysville.

Eastern Sanitary Landfill and Recycling Center, 6259 Days Cove Road, off the 11500 block of Pulaski Highway in White Marsh.
