Afterward, Wellington is joined by Baltimore's Au Contraire dance band for a family square- and contra dance. The Baltimore Folk Music Society sponsors the events.

The family concert takes place from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. with the dance from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday at the Woodbrook Baptist Church, 25 Stevenson Lane in Towson. Events are wheelchair accessible. $9; $7 BFMS members; $5 children. Family rates and group discounts available. Call 410-366-0808 or 410-321-8419.

Just as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech was stirring, emotional and controversial, so too were the events leading up to the historic oratory. Trace the chronology of events surrounding the landmark march on Washington in 1963 and subsequent speech to civil rights gatherers Saturday in a play, "The Dream," written by Curtis R. Sisco and performed by four actors of the Children's Theater Association, at the Baltimore Museum of Art. The performance is recommended for ages 10 and up.

Enter an exotic land with a crusading scientist Sunday at the play "Ladder to the Sky," written by Curtis R. Sisco and performed by the Children's Theater Association at the Baltimore Museum of Art. In the performance, the scientist seeks to study the effects of rain forest exploitation and resolve the conflict between using rain forests' resources without destroying their ecosystem. Live animals, including snakes, lizards, macaws and giant toads of the world's rain forest, appear on stage as part of the show. The performance is recommended for ages 7 and up.

"The Dream" is presented Saturday at 2 p.m. and "Ladder to the Sky" is Sunday at 2 p.m., both at the BMA, 10 Art Museum Drive. $8; $7 in advance or for BMA members, for each show. Call 410-366-6403.
