Brewers: Named former Orioles IF Ron Jackson first base coach. Moved former Orioles C Bob Melvin to bench coach.

Dodgers: Named Steve Yeager hitting coach and Mark Brewer pitching coach at Single-A San Bernardino. Named Mitch Webster hitting coach and Max Leon pitching coach at Single-A Yakima.

Mets: Agreed to one-year contract with P Allen Watson.

Rangers: Agreed to one-year contracts with P Brandon Knight, P Corey Lee, P Mike Venafro, OF Mike Zywica and Heisman Trophy-winning OF Ricky Williams.

Emporia State: Football coach Manny Matsakis resigned to become offensive coordinator at Wyoming.

Kentucky: Suspended C-F Jamaal Magloire indefinitely for curfew violation and technical foul.

Maryland: F Taylor Twellman was named men's soccer Freshman of the Year by Soccer America. Twellman was also named to All-Freshman team, which also includes Maryland D Dan Califf, D Nick Downing and D Beckett Hollenbach.

Pittsburgh: Dropped freshman G Fred Primus from roster after he was arrested on grand theft charges.

Texas: Suspended F Gabe Muoneke one game for unsportsmanlike behavior.
