Texas: After a 2-7 start in which the Longhorns lost their first four games under first-year coach Rick Barnes, Texas has gotten strong play from Kris Clack en route to winning five straight and six of seven.

Teams on the way down:

Clemson: Barnes' former team has lost three of its four ACC games, including its last two to Wake Forest and Florida State, to fall to 12-5.

Illinois: There is not much fight in the Illini these days, with the team 0-4 in the Big Ten heading into tomorrow's home game against Michigan State.
