The new year gets off to a dark, comic start at the Vagabond Players with Lyle Kessler's ``Orphans,'' which opens a five-weekend run tomorrow.

Alex Willis directs Ronald Burr, Mike Heany and Steve Oldham in Kessler's play about two brothers who attempt to fleece a stranger, only to have the tables turned.

Show times at the Vagabonds, 806 S. Broadway, are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sundays, through Feb. 7. Tickets are $10. Call 410-563-9135.
