Zoning panel OKs beauty salon in Hampstead home

January 05, 1999

The Board of Zoning Appeals of Carroll County has approved a conditional use request for a residential beauty salon in Hampstead.

Brian and Kimberly Muska made the request for Kimberly Muska to install a one-chair beauty salon in the couple's garage in the 3300 block of St. George's Court. She operates a salon in town but wanted to move the business to her home.

Hours of operation would be limited to 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, by appointment only. Additional traffic to the neighborhood would be minimal.

The board approved the request with the condition that the salon be limited to one chair, three parking spaces for customers and a sign no larger than 1 foot by 2 feet.
