A present for Santa Claus Anonymous

For more than 36 years, members of the Printing Industries of Maryland (PIM) have held a holiday auction to benefit Santa Claus Anonymous. This year's gala event, held at the Sparrows Point Country Club, helped the charity make its $500,000 goal.

Guests could bid on an array of silent-auction items as well as wrapped ``blind'' items. The highlight of the evening was a live auction at which auctioneer Skip Bray of French-Bray brought top dollar for the items. Helping him in this endeavor were celebrity auctioneers Chris Ely, WJZ-TV; Scott Garceau, WMAR-TV; and Orioles coach Elrod Hendricks.

One person who was most happy with the evening was Vincent Columbia, president of Santa Claus Anonymous. Other faces in the crowd included Ken Boone, owner of Direct Marketing Association; Jay Goldscher, vice-chair of PIM and an employee of Graphtec; Jeff Atwell, Cavanaugh Press, and his wife, Kimmy.
