A group of children in New York who are homeless, disabled or AIDS patients is appealing to Baltimore residents to help find their therapeutic dog, Tasha, a 2-year-old Akita.
A $1,500 reward is offered.
For two years, Tasha has been working at the Association to Benefit Children, an organization that cares for homeless and medically fragile children. She attends the association's nursery school, Cassidy's Place.
Therapeutic pets are thought to enhance the health of sick people.
Tasha is 100 pounds, gentle and rabies-free. She has brown and black fur, white paws, a white stomach and a big curly tail.
Her owner had been visiting Baltimore and let Tasha outside. She was seen on Dec. 22 on Pennsylvania Avenue in West Baltimore and on Dec. 24 near the western rim of Druid Hill Park.
