Galloway's 23 lead City over Cardozo

Todd Galloway had a game-high 23 points as the City Knights (6-1), ranked No. 13 in the metro area, defeated Cardozo of D.C., 74-55, in a first-round game in the T.C. Williams Classic in Alexandria, Va. Galloway also had seven assists and five rebounds.

Ryan Galloway chipped in 14 points for City, including nine in the third period when the Knights outscored Cardozo, 15-5.

The Knights play Suitland in the semifinals tomorrow at 5 p.m.

Girls

No. 7 Western 66, McDonough 30: Delena DeShields and Latia Few each scored 16 points to power the Doves (5-1) past the host Rams (1-4) in the opening round of the Holiday Hoops Tournament of Charles County.

Suitland 79, No. 6 Meade 63: Ki-Ki Wimbush led the way with 32 points as the Rams (6-0), ranked No. 2 by the Washington Post, rolled over the Mustangs (3-3) in the opening round of the Holiday Hoops Tournament at McDonough in Charles County. Sophomore Nicole Daley had 20 points and 10 rebounds for Meade.

Meade trailed by 16, 43-27, at halftime as it missed 14 free throws. The Mustangs got as close as 12 points in the final quarter with the help of three Rams' players fouling out.

Latanya Eldridge added 17 points for Meade.

Randallstown 57, Mount de Sales 52: Manika Little scored 18 and Chrystal Gibson added 14 to lead the Rams (5-2) past the Sailors in a Catonsville tournament quarterfinal game. Randallstown advances to meet Bryn Mawr in the semifinals tomorrow at 7 p.m.

No. 18 Catonsville 71, St. Paul's 32: Carol Schmoeller scored 13 to power the host Comets past the Gators (4-1) in the opening round of the Comet Classic. Micah Cummings led St. Paul's with 13.
