Barenaked again

December 24, 1998|By J.D. Considine

Everybody has holiday traditions - even rock bands. Canada's Barenaked Ladies, for example, like to spread a bit of Christmas cheer by spending the last week of every year making return trips to selected cities. Fans think of the shows as a sort of Christmas bonus, a chance to see the Ladies again without having to wait for the next album and tour.

This year, those cities include Washington. So if you haven't had your minimum annual requirement of hits like "One Week" or "It's All Been Done," head for the D.C. suburbs on Wednesday, when the Barenaked Ladies play the Patriot Center.

The Patriot Center is at George Mason University, 4400 University Drive, Fairfax, Va. Show time is 8 p.m., and tickets are $27.50. Call 703-993-3000 for information, 410-481-7328 for tickets.
